The famed rapper was killed 20 years ago.

Today marks the 20th anniversary of Tupac’s death, and to celebrate the rapper’s life, Fresno-based restaurant Take 3 will be opening a temporary stop called the Powamekka Cafe. The cafe will have several menu items inspired by Tupac, including Mac-and-Cheeseburgers and “Thug Passion” cake pops.

The restaurant was actually Shakur’s idea. Before his death, he created a logo with the idea of eventually open a music-themed place of his own. Unfortunately, he passed away before his idea could be realized.

Tupac’s death is still shrouded in mystery. In fact, USA Today just published a list of conspiracy theories surrounding his murder that still are pervasive today. These include the idea that Shakur faked his own death and that he isn’t dead at all, but instead is being kept safe by the government.

Whether you buy into the conspiracy theories or not, there’s no denying that his music has left a huge mark. With a massive amount of music released (some of which came out after his death), it’s astonishing that most of it is as honest and gut-wrenching as it is.
