The 74-year-old singer revealed that she had to cancel shows due to doctors’ orders, but she hasn’t revealed the underlying cause.
“Due to doctors’ orders I will have to cancel a few concerts for the next month or so,” Franklin simply said to the Associated Press. “I’m especially disappointed because two of them are among my favorite cities, Washington D.C. and New York. I don’t want to miss any. I should continue the rest of my tour by November.”
So far, at least five shows have been canceled. The first was a show on August 26 in Vienna, Virginia, while the next two appearances were at Radio City Music Hall for Tony Bennet’s birthday celebration and a solo show. October performances in Michigan and Missouri have also been taken off the schedule.
