As the entire world knows, Brad Pitt is in the midst of a messy split with soon-to-be ex-wife Angelina Jolie. Hollywood’s former favorite couple is duking it out over custody, assets and all that good stuff that comes with getting divorced.
Pitt has mostly been keeping a low profile, even pulling out of promotional events for his film Allied. However, he cut himself some slack this weekend when he attended a charity event in Malibu. The event was put on by jeweler Alex and Ani as well as the Epidermolysis Bullosa Medical Research Foundation. Keeping things light, the benefit featured a whole lot of music and festivities.
Brad Pitt introduced a couple performances throughout the night. He ribbed on Sting quite a bit before introducing Chris Cornell, who he called a “very, very good friend.” Cornell and Sting proceeded to jam out together as Pitt took his leave.
Several other celebs put in an appearance at the benefit, including Zach Galifianakis, Kaley Cuoco, Elizabeth Olsen, Rami Malek, Heidi Klum and Charlie Hunnam. But none of these folks have Hollywood scandal swarming around them like Brad Pitt does. Naturally, he was one of the highlights.
Getting back on the road with public appearances may be a good sign that things are wrapping up between Jolie and Pitt in their custody battle. The actor also appeared at the Golden Globes as a presenter on January 8, where he was greeted with warm applause.
