Gwen Stefani pulled quite an April Fools “prank” by announcing her pregnancy on Instagram. Presumably, the child would be with current boyfriend (and possibly fiancé) Blake Shelton.
Though the post took place on the official day of trickery, Stefani made no statement of any sort that she was actually joking.
So was this a gag, or was is Stefani actually expecting? Perhaps she’s not even pregnant, but wants to test the waters to see how fans would react when the time comes? After all, she is 46 years old, which some may say is too old to be having kids.
Stefani already has three kids with ex-husband Gavin Rossdale, ranging in age from two years old to nine. Rossdale and Stefani divorced in late 2015.
Stefani began dating Shelton shortly after her divorce, during production of season 9 of The Voice at the end of last year. At the time, both singers were serving as coaches on the show.
They quickly went public by appearing at an after party for the Country Music Awards together in November 2015.
Rumors have also circulated that the couple have recently gotten engaged, with Stefani popping the question at her home. Though quick engagements seem to be happening more and more often these days, Stefani’s pregnancy could be prompting the quick commitment.
Stefani has remained silent since posting the controversial new, despite fans being in an uproar. If she really had nothing to hide, we’re guessing she’d clear the air and put rumors to rest. Looking forward to meeting you, baby Stefani.
