Mexican ‘The Voice’ Star Alejandro Fuentes Killed By Gunman Days After Christina Grimmie’s Death

A former contestant on Mexico’s version of The Voice, Alejandro Fuentes, passed away from a gunshot wound in Chicago on Saturday. Fuentes was out celebrating his 45th birthday on Thursday with his friends when he was ambushed and shot.

Alejandro Fuentes appeared in the first season of the Mexican version of ‘The Voice.’

The singer was seated inside his car outside a performing arts school for children that he ran in the southwest part of the city. A shooter tried to force Fuentes out of the car, and when he refused, the gunman shot Fuentes three times. At least one shot struck Fuentes in the head.

He was taken to Mount Sinai hospital where he was in critical condition, and he was placed on life support to give his relatives a chance to say their goodbyes. He died Saturday afternoon.

Christina Grimmie was killed less than two weeks ago by a different shooter.

Christina Grimmie, a contestant on the United States version of the popular television program, was also killed just ten days prior. She was signing autographs when a gunman entered the Florida venue and shot her.

Grimmies’ brother tackled the shooter, who then shot and killed himself. Grimmie died in the hospital shortly after at the age of 22.
