The pop singer was slated to perform a tribute to Bob Dylan this coming weekend, but Dr. Luke pulled his permission when he found out the singer may use the show to bash him.
Dr. Luke’s label Kemosabe records has released a statement about the awards show plan:
“Kesha’s performance on the Billboard Music Awards was always approved, in good faith. Approval was only suspended when Kemosabe learned Kesha was to use the performance as a platform to discuss the litigation.”
The statement continued, “Now that Kemosabe has obtained assurances, that it is relying upon, from Kesha, her representatives and Dick Clark Productions that neither Kesha nor her supporters will use the performance as such a platform, the approval has been restored.”
After Dr. Luke’s ups and downs, Kesha better be careful about getting her hopes up. We never know what Dr. Luke is going to pull next.
